Como bien sabemos, hemos dicho en muchas ocasiones que el fuego es nuestro mayor aliado, pero cuando esta descontrolado se convierte en nuestra mayor pesadilla.

El fuego es fuego

Tenemos claro que fuego solo hay uno, pero cuando hablamos de seguridad contra incendios nos referimos al tipo de fuego o como se ha generado dicho fuego y cual es el desencadenante o combustible que lo provoca.

A esto le llamamos clases de fuegos y van indicados con un valor Alfabético que va desde la A hasta la K, aquí podrás saber más sobre los tipos de incendios

¿Por qué es tan importante saber el tipo de fuego?

La respuesta es muy sencilla, porque de esta manera sabrás como puedes apagar dicho fuego en caso de que te enfrentes a uno.

Usar un extintor que no este preparado para un tipo de fuego puede provocar que el incendio incluso se descontrole o provoque aun mas daños y problemas.

Imagina por un momento que tienes un incendio en la cocina, tu sartén se ha calentado demasiado y el aceite se ha incendiado, lo primero que se nos puede ocurrir es echar agua (NUNCA ECHAR AGUA SOBRE UNA SARTEN CON ACEITE), pero esto provocaría que el fuego se extendiese mucho mas.

Sin entrar en la polaridad de los líquidos nos centraremos en la densidad, el agua es mas densa que el aceite y esta hace que el aceite suba arriba como si existieran 2 capas, una de aceite arriba y otra de agua abajo.

El agua realizaría la función de vehículo, permitiendo al aceite poder desplazarse por donde vaya el agua, bien imagina que ese aceite esta incendiado, seria como ver al agua arder mientras se extiende por la cocina sin control.

La mejor forma de apagar un fuego de una sarten es tapándola y ahogando asi el fuego, ya que necesita oxigeno para su combustión.

También puedes tener en casa un extintor de mano, como si fuera un espray que sirve para poder sofocar ese tipo de incendio en una cocina.

Resumiendo

Como hemos dicho siempre, el fuego es nuestro aliado, pero a veces escapa a nuestro control y es cuando debemos tener las armas necesarias para combatirlos.
